KIDS 12 and Under on Event Day  - FREE

• You can not share days.  So if you buy four days, they must all be for the same person -- you can't keep two for yourself and then give two to a friend.  Are we mean or what?‚Äč

• No matter how many days you pick, one day of paddling down the Delaware is included free. So if you sign up for one day, you get one free day of paddling. If you sign up for two days, you still get ONE free day of paddling only.

Some folks want to paddle more than one day and that's fine. You can purchase additional days of paddling if you wish.

• Kids 12 and under on event day -- all days free.  WE won't charge you anything for your kids, but you'll still have to pay for items for your kids beyond our control, such as:

Paddling down the river: $24 per child per day

Meals: They can steal from your plate in sane quantities, otherwise order for them on a separate tab.

Pay any extra kids fees directly to the vendors at the event.

ADULTS - Check off ALL the days you want to attend

IF this registration is for a child who is attending for free with an adult, please list the adult's name here:

We are Paddling Down the Delaware!

Paddle down the Delaware in your choice of craft:

Kayak - holds one person

Canoe - holds two or three people -- your choice

Raft -- holds two - six people

No matter how many days of fun you sign up for, you get ONE free day of paddling.

If you want to paddle more than one day you can pay the boat rental company directly when you get to the event.

• • •

Children who want to go on the river must be at least 5 years old and 40 lbs.

WE don't charge anything for kids to attend Paddle Pedal Pig, but you do have to pay the boat rental folks directly if your kids want to paddle on the river -- $24 per child per day.

Kids will NOT be charged here for their paddling.

If you are paddling a canoe or raft and know the names of the other people you want in your boat with you, please list them here:

We offer OPTIONAL transportation for your bike and you from Manhattan out to the event and back again. Your bike travels in our bike trucks while you travel by van.

You may want to actually sleep at some point!  There are several hotels nearby -- details on our web site -- but the staff will be camping out along the Delaware River.  This is a full-service campground (running water, toilets, etc.).  Bring your tent and enjoy the stars at night.

Yes, there is room for your camper or RV, but extra fees may apply -- contact us for details.

DON'T FORGET -- If you choose to stay at local hotels you are responsible for all transportation between the hotel and our activities.

Need to Rent Camping Gear?

We have brand new Kelty four-person tents you can rent so you can camp out for Paddle Pedal.

Prices are PER TENT and NOT per person.

We can also set up/take down your tent for you if you wish.

The coupon code is for people such as volunteers who work the event but don't pay. There isn't some giant coupon discount out there that everyone else is getting.

Saturday there is an OPTIONAL adventure out to Bethel Woods, site of the original Woodstock music festival.  You can tour the grounds for free, or pay $15 when you arrive to visit the museum.

There are several pedaling options. You can change your mind, even on ride day, but what do you THINK you want to pedal?

Optional Rain Insurance

We roll rain or shine.  So usually we hesitate to even mention the word “rain”.  But we just did, so we offer optional rain insurance.

Here’s how it works:

  • You can buy rain insurance for one, two, three, or zero days of Paddle Pedal.  You pay an additional $19 per day. If it rains 1” or more any time between 8 a.m. - midnight the insurance company pays you $150 for each day you have insured. (Higher payouts available too -- see below)
  • It doesn’t matter what you paid for the ride -- $150; $250; $300; nothing (maybe you’re riding for free as a volunteer)... you get $150 for each day you covered with insurance. The payment will be made by check.
  • You do NOT need to show up on that day to collect. So if you wake up and it’s pouring, you can go back to sleep. We’ll mail your check to you.

The Fine Print

  • This is real insurance, which we buy from a real insurance company. These are reliable folks, but we pay you when they pay us. If the insurance kicks in they will send one check directly to us. That means that we’ll send out YOUR check as soon as we get OUR check and give it a couple days to clear the bank. (We trust them; we just can’t afford to lay out all that dough!)
  • Please remember that we are NOT guaranteeing that it won’t drizzle; we’re protecting you against a downpour.
  • The rain is measured near the Narrowsburg, NY start/finish line at a professional weather station not affiliated with the insurance company or with us. If it rains more than 1” the insurance pays off.
  • The rain insurance option is popular. HOWEVER... we need at least 40 people to sign up for rain insurance for each day to make it work. If it turns out that we don’t get 40 we’ll contact each person who signed up for the insurance and offer them a full cash refund of the insurance fee AND the ride fee if they wish.

Clear as mud? You bet!

We want the towns we ride through to welcome us back next year, and we want to keep each other safe on the road. That means no riding two-abreast when streets are narrow, passing too close, or otherwise acting like a jerk.

(Or as my mom used to say, "Don't do anything wrong and don't LOOK like you're doing anything wrong!)

Your credit card statement is going to read:

Now raise your right hand and repeat after me: "Being a smart and swell person, I promise not to freak out when I see BICYCLE SHOWS U.S. on my credit card statement and then email Glen in panic, ranting on about some charge I don't recognize before saying, "Oh... yeah... bike ride... now I remember...' ".

We don't get this money -- we just give it to the credit card and on-line registration people.
